With increasing concern over the activities of white supremacists and neo-Nazis, the Southern Poverty Law Center is making fraudulent claims against pro-family groups again.

Last week, CNN published the SPLC’s map of “hate groups” in the United States. The liberal “research” group lumps Holocaust-deniers, the Klan and White Nationalists with legitimate conservative and pro-family groups, such as Family Research Council, Alliance Defending Freedom, the American College of Pediatricians and the World Congress of Families. If you disagree with SPLC’s radical cultural-left agenda (including abortion-on-demand, same-sex marriage and transgenderism) you are condemned as hateful.

Five years ago, an armed intruder attacked Family Research Council’s D.C. offices carrying a list of SPLC-certified “hate groups.” The man who shot Congressman Steve Scalise in June said he “liked” SPLC on his Facebook page. Does the Southern Poverty Law Center abet terrorism in the guise of fighting hatred?

Our 5th. Caribbean Regional Conference (November 16-18) is being organized by the Caribbean Centre for Family and Human Rights (CARIFAM), founded by Sarah Flood-Beaubrun, a Member of Parliament and first female Speaker of Saint Lucia’s House of Assembly. Flood-Beaubrun is a strong advocate for the natural family and recently spoke at the WCF Regional Conference is Antigua (June 29-30).

The proposed theme is “The Family and Development: Strong Families, Prosperous Nations.”

The 2017 Rhodes Forum, Dialogue of Civilizations, will take place on the Isle of Rhodes, October 6-7, co-sponsored by World Congress of Families. WCF Partner, Natalia Yakunina, Chair of the Sanctity of Motherhood Program, and her husband Vladimir Yakunin are founders of this elite international gathering. The “liberal” (left-wing) government of Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has made promoting abortion and other population-control measures in Africa the centerpiece of Canada’s foreign policy.

His government has committed to spending $650 million over the next three years to promote what it euphemistically calls sexual and reproductive health rights in developing countries. This includes funding campaigns to legalize abortion in African countries where it’s currently illegal.

In June, Canadian Foreign Minister Chrystia Freeland told the House of Commons that pushing abortion overseas is “at the core of Canada’s foreign policy” – not fighting poverty and disease, not projects to provide clean water and maternal care, not promoting democracy and human rights, but facilitating the deaths of unborn children.

The World Congress of Families is committed to fighting this cultural imperialism. In the past two years, we’ve done three regional conferences in Africa — one in Nairobi in 2015, another in that city last year, and one in Lagos this year. A fourth is planned for Lilongwe, Malawi, November 28-30. REAL Women of Canada (a WCF Partner) is working with us to combat the Trudeau government’s anti-life agenda.
