Head of IPPF Abortion Industry Visits Africa – New Director of International Planned Parenthood Federation Targets Uganda, Kenya and Nigeria
As his first foreign trip as the new Director General of the International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF), Dr. Alvaro Bermejo visited Uganda, Kenya and Nigeria (March 18-20).
IPPF founded by Margaret Sanger, is the world’s leading promoter of abortion, the sexual revolution, and small families under the guise of promoting sexual and reproductive health. The IPPF is financially supported by many governments including the European Commission and the United Nations Population Fund for special projects. Half of the balance of their funding comes from government development assistance programs purportedly to improve the health of women and children while actively focused on promoting abortion and non-normative sexual behavior through comprehensive sexuality education (CSE).

To achieve the goals of the abortion industry, the IPPF often collaborates with the World Health Organization (WHO), the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD). The IPPF is a prominent lobbyist in the European Union: specifically, for the European Council and the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC). It is the only NGO to have Consultative Status with the Council of Europe which allows the IPPF to sit in on the Council’s Parliamentary Assembly.
Abortion providers through IPPF have long targeted Africa, since abortion is illegal on most of the continent. In the United States, the Planned Parenthood Federation, an IPPF affiliate, performs more than 320,000 abortions a year (34% of all of those performed nationwide).
In Africa, IPPF sells abortion as a way to improve women’s health and a key to development through programs under the banner of comprehensive sexuality education (CSE). In truth, the way to improving women’s health in developing countries is better maternal care, not killing unborn children.
Many medical experts also disagree with IPPF’s spurious claims – “The real issue regarding maternal mortality in Africa and other developing countries in maternity care rests in the lack of trained and skilled birth attendants with access to emergency or higher levels of care. Reproductive rights (translated abortions) is NOT safe, actually has HIGHER rates of maternal mortality when compared by appropriate gestational age controls, is associated with INCREASED risk for breast cancer (in first pregnancies ending in elective abortion), is associated with INCREASED risk for preterm birth by 30-60%, is associated to INCREASED risk for death by all causes, and is associated with significantly INCREASED risk for psychological damage (including suicide and major depression).” Byron C. The key to economic growth and development is a rising population, to grow the food and provide the goods and services for internal markets and export. Some of fastest growing and most economically prosperous places on earth have the highest population density, including Singapore, South Korea, India, Israel and Belgium.
A nation’s wealth starts with its people, especially the children. As Pope John Paul II said, “As the family goes, so goes the nation and so goes the whole world in which we live.”
